MOVEMENT EXPLORATIONS

Join us in exploring different inspirations for movement creation! Anybody with any background (regardless of experience and ability) are always invited to take part in our movement explorations as we experiment with various inspirations for movement play. Donations are welcome to support the project, however there is no cost to taking part!

VISUAL ART AND MOVEMENT

In this workshop we explored how visual arts and movement art can inspire one another. We underwent an investigation of the visual arts elements of design and connected them to the dance elements of movement. Through this interaction we sought to gain a deeper understanding of how we can connect the two art forms.

WORD AND MOVEMENT

In this workshop we explored how we can connect the written word with movement. In particular, we discovered how the creation of poetry can be used to initiate the creation of movement as well as to accompany our created phrases.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND MOVEMENT

In this workshop we began to explore the power that movement and art can have in exploring themes of social justice. We started to investigate how we can interpret embodiments of our narratives and allow us to question the structures through which we move. We questioned how how performances of marginalization, oppression, and power can impact an audience.
